Sustainable Mapping: the initiative "Mapping for Good"

The world is full of explorers, and full of things to be explored.
The "Map of Tomorrow"´(German: Karte von morgen) helps us to discover places from an inspiring point of view: you can find forward-thinking projects, companies and soon  also events in your area.
Everyone can be part of it and contribute. The map is an open resource that is based on the open street map. It is easy to make entries. Try it out:

The map has been initiated by Ideen³  together with slowtec. It is successfully implemented in Germany and is now aiming at internationalizing the map more and more.

Your benefits:

  • It is made by people for people and based on voluntary basis. Support the map by adding new points on the map!
  • You can embed the map on your website.
  • The labels function like filters. Using specific hashtags in the search bar can help you to find the right things and to embed just a selection of points to your embeded map.
  • You will explore more and more  points in your own neighborhood and you can connect with people who share the same vision with you!

Example for social inclusion:

The StartUpcycling project by Starkmacher is working on international level with educators in the field of recycling and upcycling connected with employability for youth. The project team has embeded the map on the project page.
The upcycling team is now trying to fill the map with many more points worldwide. If you know any recycling or upcycling places, please help us contributing with more entries.

Find out more about how to use the map for specific topics like upcycling:

Together, we can show and embrace the positive change in our society.

Many thanks to "Mapping for Good" for the extraordinary good work you do!
