Our Polish partner FUNDACJA LAJA: Inspiring through tea!

Jakub from Cieszyn is telling us:

The October meeting of organizations within the Inclusion is Fusion project was attended also by Fundacja Laja. I was an EVS volunteer in Laja in 2016 and I´d like to share my point of view about what we do.

We are a young organization. It's only five years since we were born and since then we are constantly developing and expanding our activities. The emergence of the organization arose from the need to give expression and face to our common idea that it is possible and necessary to improve the world - at least the part we can influence - through education, play and cooperation.

We focus on ecology - because we want future generations to experience the world green and clean; culture - we try to raise the human spirit, because not only food is the living; social responsibility - we show people that each of us is responsible for his decisions and can be a good farmer in his small part of the world if he realizes their consequences and context.

We are passionate about what we do and we want to help participants in our workshops, festivals, lectures and other activities to feel this passion and get inspired to fulfill their dreams.

We are well aware that each of us has talent in a specific area of life, we are here to give people the space to develop this talent. That is why we are part of the Erasmus + European Voluntary Service project. We are always delighted to see how our volunteers gain self-confidence and discover within themselves the abilities that they may not even have been aware of before. This gives us new energy into the veins and confirms that our work makes sense.

Perhaps the most important event in our calendar is Tea Festival, a festival at the Castle Hill in Cieszyn, where all our activities are united and celebrated and which will celebrate the 10th anniversary in 2018. Tea has been a symbol of peace, understanding and development of human spirit and culture throughout its history. Tea seldom we drink ourselves, on the contrary, we share a tea bowl with other people. Tea inspired man to create great things. Tea is simply a symbol that perfectly reflects our perception of the world.

The festival's gates are open to all regardless of age, gender, race or political or religious beliefs. In an atmosphere of openness and well-being full of beautiful colors, tones, scents and flavors, you can learn new skills in one of the rich offerings of workshops, inspire you to long trips in the meetings with well-known travelers, listen to the art of the region and the world, and especially to taste the best and freshest teas from the hands of tea masters from the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. Everything is ready for you to let the worries of everyday life left behind - just relax, get acquainted, develop and experience the world without borders. All this would not have been possible without the help of dozens of volunteers. Thanks to them, the festival can be proud of the family atmosphere, for which people are returning again and again to the Castle Hill.

We warmly invite you for a cup of tea to Cieszyn and don´t forget – 1st of July 2018 we are opening the gates of 10th edition of our common Tea festival!

See you there!
Jakub Sonnek
